Visiting Assistant Professor of Accountancy at Providence College

It is my honor to recommend Alex O'Neill. I have known Alex since January 2024, when she became a student in a managerial accounting course I teach in the MBA program at Providence College. As the spring 2024 semester progresses, I become more impressed with Alex. As a student Alex has an excellent ability to connect material from the course to other courses she has taken as well as her post-MBA plans. Besides her ability to think synthetically, Alex has a mindset that will not accept mediocrity in her effort, which represents a connection to Alex the person. It is Alex the person who impresses me more. Alex cares about others, and she has a personal strength that is among the strongest I have seen in teaching, a profession I have held since 2008. Alex also projects a professionalism that is an excellent fit for her career choice, marketing. Alex is a leader who will make a difference in the lives of many. My only disappointment is I only have her in the classroom for one semester. If you have an opportunity to work with Alex, you will quickly agree with what I see, an amazing person who will do amazing things for not only herself but also others.

Susan Riley

Career Coach and Advisor in Higher Education | Accomplished Lecturer | Attorney

I have known Alex in my capacity as both an adjunct professor and a graduate career coach at Providence College (PC) where she is currently attending a very rigorous one- year MBA program while competing as a Division I athlete. Alex is an excellent student and outstanding runner. She is motivated, inquisitive, and engaged.

Alex performs well both as an individual and in a team. As an accomplished Division I athlete she not only pushes herself to break personal records but encourages and contributes to her teammate’s successes. Alex also founded a fashion club at PC. She has been able to develop her leadership skills while maintaining an environment for club members to flourish. And she continues to challenge herself in her projects and with her work. Her ambition shows in her work product being well researched, drafted, and presented.

Alex makes efforts to reach out to seek guidance and advice from myself and business partners to broaden her network and better prepare herself for the workforce. Given Alex’s background and passion for sports and business, Alex would be a great fit in a sports role with any organization. Alex is a composed and bright individual and a career in sports would provide her with a very solid foundation from which she can build a great career in this field.

Carol O'Neill

(Un)biased Momager / Interior Designer / Teacher

Alex is our middle child and has grow into a woman we are so proud of in so many ways. She is a loving and caring sister and daughter, always checking in and making sure she is still a huge part of our everyday family life even though, she lives on another continent.

As an elite athlete, she has proven her determination and dedication on numerous occasions. Willing to sacrifice leisure and social time to train and hone her athletic skills on the track and field and in the gym. She has recovered from injuries, falls, sporting heartbreak and has that admirable, determined, stubborn, trait deep within her to stand up, dust herself off and do whatever is required to get back on top and in action again. This steely determination has served her well academically as she has excelled in school and studies from a very early age from Junior school, through secondary school in Ireland, to her B.Sc. Degree and ultimately, to her imminent Masters graduation from Providence College, Rhode Island.

Throughout her athletic career, she has remained resilient and humble in her many triumphs and accolades and always strives towards the next goal with huge enthusiasm and an infectious positivity . She has been a team player her whole life, a born leader, shoulder to the grindstone, onwards and upwards and leave no one behind .

As a treasured daughter, she is loyal and loving to the core. Alex has a flame within, that draws others towards her, she is a beautifully talented classical musician and singer and tends to envelop a tribe around her, inspiring, encouraging and caring for those in her reach. Alex is ambitious and at this point in time the world in her oyster, she is a feather on a breeze seeking excitement, energy, challenges and joie de vivre.

May God Bless all of those who sail alongside her.

Strategic Branding Expert | Creative Storytelling & Problem Solving Specialist | Adjunct Instructor in Marketing

Alexandra is creative, entrepreneurial and demonstrates bravery and grit. She approached me a few weeks into our semester because she had an idea for a club and wondered if I could help her get the idea off the ground. I was impressed with her ability to put herself out there, take a risk, and go along for an exciting journey. I worked closely with her to develop the club’s charter and proposal and she and her team created and delivered an impressive presentation to Student Congress that led to the organization of the club. It was fun and rewarding to help her bring her idea to life. This example of entrepreneurial spirit, openness to new ideas and coaching, and measured risk-taking are what will carry Alexandra through her work and life. I know her teamwork and hard work ethic from being a decorated female NCAA track athlete for Providence College, and the time management and balance required to excel in sports and academics, are also foundational skills that will ensure her continued success. Alexandra is a motivated, creative and collaborative student leader and would be an asset  to any prospective company. I enjoyed having her in class and on the board of our student club. She has exhibited many real-world skills early on that take many people years to acquire and develop. She is a born leader with a will to win!

Sean Sullivan

Director - Membership, US Sailing Association

I found Alex to be a quick study and proactive team member during her time at US Sailing. She often went above and beyond on projects and programs she contributed to. This included providing additional research and opportunities on a market analysis project. If you're in the market for a positive and bright team person for your organization, Alex would be a great fit.

Alex is always punctual and prepared for practice and competition as well as brings a “get better every day” attitude. As an upperclassman, Alex leads by example and shows the younger athletes on the team how to handle stressful situations with poise and positivity.
